Four Factors
The four major factors associated closely with family violence under the ecological model are stated below.
Individual
The individual level encompasses the personal history and biological aspects like age, lack of livelihood, witnessing GBV, insufficient income, education history of abuse in life etc. These factors determine if the person is the victim of the crime or the one behind the crime. The individual might have been a victim of abuse or maltreatment in their early life which has turned the individual from a prey to the predator. Psychological or personality disorder can also result in such a heinous nature of a person (Hogan & Sherman, 2020). The environment also effects the persons behavior and too much exposure to violence can leave an effect on a person. Preventive measures include counselling on attitudes, behaviors and beliefs. Life skill training and proper education on the ground might bring about change.
