Derive the coefficient of viscous damping c corresponding to a plate that moves parallel to another fixed plate with fluid in between, as sketched in Figure 2.9. Known are the two plates superposition area A = 1000 mm2 , the plates gap g = 0.1 mm, and the coefficient of dynamic viscosity n = 0.001 N-s/m2 . Assume the fluid velocity varies linearly from zero at the interface with the fixed plate to the velocity of the mobile plate at the interface with it (Couette flow model).
