Corporate restructuring is the action taken by various companies to modify the operational structure or capital structure in significant manner. The corporate restructuring is a very significant step for an organization, and it helps to improve the financial performance of an organization and the company can eliminate its financial crisis. The restructuring may be defined mainly two types: organizational restructuring and financial restructuring. Under financial restructuring, the company make changes in capital structure such as debt equity ratio, equity holding and cross- equity holding patterns. Under organizational restructuring, the company make changes in its organizational structure etc. The corporate restructuring is done mainly due to changes required in strategy, lack of profits, cash flows requirements and reverse synergies. There are various advantages and disadvantages of corporate restructuring which are as below:
