1. Scatter plots are drawn for each independent variable and dependent variable using SPSS.
Enter
the data in SPSS.
Go to graphs, select legacy dialogs, and select Scatter/Dot.
Select Simple scatter and click Define.
Move Death rate to y axis, the death rates is the dependent variable and move PCT Urban prop
(independent variable) to the X axis.
Click Ok.
Similarly, find the rest two scatter plots.
2.Now, find a correlation matrix using SPSS describing the relationship between the variables.
Go to Analyse, click Correlate and then select Bivariate.
Then move all the listed variables to the variables box:
The correlation matrix is given below:
The correlation between death rate and PctUrbpop is 0.594 which is a moderate positive
relationship.
The correlation between death rate and AvgSpRural is 0.305 which is a weak positive
relationship.
The correlation between death rate and PctSurf is -0.556 which is a moderate negative
relationship....
