IMPACT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ON SUPPLY CHAIN INDUSTRY
Abstract
The proposed research is on the analysis of the impact of implementing information technology (IT) in the supply chain industry. IT is growing to become a very commonly implemented process for most of the processes conducted in a business. Hence, it can be safely said that it will equally benefit the supply chain industry as well. However, there might also be various steps and methods in this process of implementation, which will be identified as well as analyzed with the help of this research proposal. Thus, this report highlights the role of technology in terms of tools and software that are used to help the business organization facilitate its activities related to supply chain, and, thus, achieve competitive advantage in terms of technological advancements in its business processes and activities that will enable it to stand out from its competitors.

1. Statement of the Problem
Information Technology (IT) has become of great importance in today’s complex and turbulent environment. However, as said by Vanpoucke, Vereecke and Muylle (2017), the technological advancements has led to the shrinking of world. Thus, by witnessing the role of IT in helping the business organizations to face the challenges of today’s dynamic environment, it can be fairly emphasized that it has become of much importance to the supply chain industry. This is because the organizations will be able to meet its customer demands with the integration of IT tools with its supply chain activities.
Hence, it has become interesting to know the impact of IT in supply chain industry. In this research proposal, the study will be about the impact that Information Technology has on the Supply Chain industry. The current environment is very dynamic in terms of changes that come from various forces such as legal, political, economic as well as technological and affect the organizations and its activities in various ways.
2. Purpose of the Study
