It was morally wrong and ethically w
rong to execute an individual with little evidence. It can be
seen in the case of death by fire that though there were evidences of the children having been set
on fire there were nothing to prove that Willingham had done it. The execution of Willingham
after 12 years of trial only made the entire forensic department investigation looked flawed. It
was certain that after the execution of Willingham’s , when the four person panel of the Texas
forensic science commission made an extensive detailed finding and said that the method used
by Manuel Vasquez was wrong and he was found negligent of discharging his duty and there
was misconduct n the way he conducted his work. It was also noticed that the investigating
officers had found strong evidences of the fire having been caused by liquid arsenals kept near
the children’s bedroom and the fire had started by igniting the same. Though all these did lead to
the fact that Willingham could have set fire to the house and thereby killing his three daughter’s
there was no evidence to directly prove that Willingham had set fire to the house. There was no
eye witness to the scene. So it can be seen that based on irregular reporting and investigations an
innocent man was done to death by the lethal medicine. Willingham was charged with murder on
January 8, 1992 and was executed by a lethal injection on February 17tth, 2004 in the Texas
State Penitentiary in Huntsville. The entire process of the trail was based only on the
