Introduction:
The circuit is divided into three stages. Initial stage captures the input and decodes it into timer value and commands. Second stage is the State machine that controls the function of the Microwave. Last stage is the Timer and counterpart that counts down after the Load is done and controller has issued command to switch ON.
The circuit can also be analyzed in terms of its data path. The input goes to controller and to the BCD down counters in the Timer. Control path is from Input to State Machine. From State machine the control outputs are derived based on its current state.
