Create an interactive website (using Photoshop and Dreamweaver) that functions as an expressive work of art. This website must contain at least 4 pages that work together either in sequence or as a group.
As a work of art, the website will not serve as a personal portfolio but rather as another piece that you can later add to your growing body of work. The use of text should be minimal unless the images depend on it (i.e. ascii art, etc.) You may employ the use of narrative, or captions, but let the imagery do most of the communicating.
The finished piece should have a title (you should title the piece as a whole as well as the pages individually). The title will appear in the top of the window and does not have to be on the page itself. Each page is to have at least four components of interactivity which can be in the form of image rollovers, links, gifs, buttons, etc.
Although this is ultimately a project to be composed in Dreamweaver, a lot of work will also need to be done in Photoshop. I believe it is best to start thinking of the concept now, gathering your images and begin composing them in Photoshop as you learn the basics of Dreamweaver. Remember, we are trying to create a cohesive website to be viewed as art.
Think about the potential viewer and what you want to convey and how… also think about the situation in which people will be experiencing your work, (i.e. on the net). Try to think of how they can interact in a way that promotes your overall concept or narrative. Most of all have fun with the project and push your imagination.
Write a 1-2 page statement explaining your concept, process, and artistic influences.
