Bystanders may be defined as the people who are passive witnesses to situations that are unethical or against law in any case. These are the people who do not like to intervene into such situations and are confined within their own boundaries. These are the people who do not like to stand against injustice so that their voices could be heard and they could help the innocent victim. They do not tend to help people. It can be inferred that bystanders do not protect the moral values of safety, trust and honor.

What Makes Bystanders?
Social Inhibition: This involves subconscious or conscious avoidance of situation.
Diffusion of Responsibility: People think that somebody else would take some action.
Several factors contribute in developing a sense of resistance among people who act to be the passive bystanders. One of the most common factor is social inhibition. Through the results of several surveys it could be highlighted that people avoid such situations because they don’t want to put their personal safety at risk. Another most important factor is the diffusion of responsibility indicating that when people are in a group they tend to diffuse the responsibility that someone else will help the victim.
