Couple Assessment Reflection Paper

For this assignment, you will need to use the Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS), the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale (KMSS), the Locke-Wallace Marital Adjustment Test (MAT), and the Weiss-Cerreto Marital Status Inventory (MSI). Each of these measures is available in the Books and Resources section of the course and for this week. To complete the assignment, you will need to find a married couple that is willing to complete each of the assessments. You may invite one couple to complete all four assessments, or you can invite different couples to complete each assessment or any other combination. You need to have BOTH partners complete the instruments. Before starting the assessment part of this the assignment you are required to complete the Consent form with the chosen participants (the form can be found in the Resource section for this week assignment). After completing the Consent form, please upload the document along with the results of the assessment.

The assignment should be completed on a consenting couple. You cannot complete the assignment on your own couple. If you are having trouble locating a volunteer, please contact your instructor as soon as possible. Examine the following scales, test and inventory to complete the couples assessments:

Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS)

Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale (KMSS)

Locke-Wallace Marital Adjustment Test (MAT)

Weiss-Cerreto Marital Status Inventory (MSI)

Once you have completed each of the assessments, use the scoring instructions to score the responses. Then, for each measure, write a Clinical Assessment Report (CAR) using the template in the Books and Resources section of the course and for this week. Although you will have each partner or spouse complete the assessment you will include their scores, results, observations, etc. onto one CAR. You should end up with 8 completed assessments (4 completed by each member of the couple= 8 assessments) and 4 CARs (one for each of the four assessments that indicates the scores for both partners). Copy and paste the 4 completed CARs into one document and then write a brief synopsis of your experience of using each of the measures and compare and contrast the usefulness of each with the others. Based on the article provided in this assignment, briefly discuss the use and importance of couple assessment.

Submit one document, which contains all 4 of your CARs and your essay comparing the measures and discussing the importance of couple assessment. The background information provided in each CAR is identical for each completed form. You do not need to turn in the actual assessments. Your essay should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.

Reflection on RDAS Results
The couple, who were selected for this assessment, was Mr. Anderson and Shelley, his wife. They have now been married for seven years and six months overall and their relationship is one of the ideal examples of smooth management of marital status. While Mr. Anderson works as a corporate lawyer for a reputable legal firm, Shelley is an interior designer by profession. The couple has no children so far due to medical issues in Shelley and they have been planning to adopt one very soon. As per the three categories set for the questionnaire, the test results were promising about their relationship.
As per the sub-divisions of consensus, four items were selected for decision making out of four, three choices of the couple were perfectly matched. The score remained 9 out of 10. For values and affection, within the range of two items selected, a 100% match was found in the choices of the couple and therefore, the score remained 10/10 and 10/10. The overall score in consensus category of RDAS was 29 out of 30.
In the other two categories, cohesion and satisfaction, the score of the couple was respectively 18 out of 19 and 19 out of 20. It projects that on RDAS scale, the couple has shown promising results and their marital status is perfectly fine. All they need to improve, deriving from the suggestions of Mousavi, Masoumi, Keramat, Pooralajal and Shobeiri (2013), is to spend quality time with each other—it does not reflect in their responses, however, it is implied due to the nature of their professional criteria of work.
Reflection on KMSS Results
The evaluation of the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale (KMSS) has three small questions and a scale to judge the response (Kayser et al., 2018). Over the first question, Mr. Anderson and Shelley both were highly satisfied with...
