Correct the essay with the professor instructions draft3
You have to change all the comments she said :You are not responding to my comments. For example, I told you on your first draft that "fulfilling Legal obligations" is not something that only progressive companies do. In fact, ALL companies must follow legal obligations!!! Here is what I wrote on your last draft: "Your intro and conclusion are good. I don't think fulfilling legal obligations is working here, though. Every company, progressive or not, has to fulfill legal obligations. Maybe you want to say that progressive companies fulfill not only legal obligations but philanthropic ones as well." Also, you were supposed to contain two examples from at least two different companies to support your topic sentences. I wrote that on your first draft as well. Here is what I wrote: "Also, your body paragraphs have some good general support, but you must also include examples of what two or more specific companies do. That is you should describe the initiatives. Read the attached essay to see how it works." This is a reading class as well as a writing class. If you do not or cannot read and follow the directions, you cannot pass the class. If you fix this, you can resubmit it as your second draft. When you have done that, I will correct it for grammar.

Socially Responsible Companies Every business runs for profitability purposes. For a business to be successful, it needs to supply quality goods and provide good services that are desired by the public. In the past decades, there has been increased pressure for businesses to be socially responsible. That is, they should be sensitive to environmental, social, and economic issues among others. The reputation of a company depends on how socially responsible it is. For example, a company that produces good quality products and services and releases by-products which directly affect the community will not be competitive in the long run as their negative reputation will push customers away. There is, therefore, a need for companies to be socially responsible to remain competitive in the market. To be socially responsible, companies must check on their employees’ welfare, fulfill their economic and legal obligations, and produce environmentally friendly products. Employees’ welfare is an important agenda for progressive companies. Managers of such companies understand that the motivation of their employees is an important thing. The best way to ensure that all employees remain motivated is caring for their welfare. For example, progressive companies provide the best working environment for their employees. Many employees spend the majority of their daily hours at work. It is, therefore, no doubt that providing a nice work environment will improve employee morale and productivity. Most progressive companies also provide physical and mental health services for their employees. For example Chevron Corporation, the American multinational energy corporation which is the second-largest oil company in America that provides significant perks and benefits that provide the employees several options for welfare and retirement benefits. The company provides health and insurance benefits like long-term disability insurance, Life Insurance, severance pay, Health Insurance, vision insurance, accidental death and disbursement insurance, and Temporary disability insurance. The company also provides coverage to have counselors for checking the mental health issues of the employees. Employees are also provided with pension plans which help them to secure a reliable income source in their later life. Progressive companies care about the environment because it is what makes them socially responsible. A business environment is both a threat and an opportunity for companies depending on how they have managed it. In the present day, environmental conservation has been a planetary event and most companies are trying to change their operating styles to protect the environment. Progressive companies understand that failure to participate in environmental conservation may change customers' views about them which may affect their reputation in the long run. For example, the automobile company Tesla uses the industry best practices from mining to recycling that effectively works for reducing the carbon dioxide emission and producers its impact report every year to analyze their sustainability approach in the industry (Carraturo, 2018). The company has effectively accelerated its operation to sustainable energy for maximizing its impact to a cleaner and environment-friendly approach. Companies are required, under the law, to fulfill their economic and legal obligations. For example, the law requires companies to file tax returns and give back to society. It is no secret that many companies in the past have been denied the right to operate in the United States because they were found to be non-tax compliant. For instance, the e-Commerce giant Amazon had to fulfill the fundamental legal aspects due to its unprecedented and meteoric growth. The company has characterized itself as neutral in the marketplace and thereby, maximized regulatory compliance and product liability (Ahmed, 2020). When the third-party sellers were caught in the legal crossfire between Amazon and state taxing authorities, Amazon decided to collect sales taxes as a fundamental shift to maintain its legal aspects. The company has also launched an IP accelerator program for trademark protection before the brand registry. Therefore, to avoid closure, these companies follow the legal and regulatory compliances to be on the right side of the government. These companies also give back to society to attract more customers. Coca-Cola, for example, has come up with scholarship programs that they give the less fortunate in society as a way of giving back. Coca-Cola has effectively worked with their 5 by 20 program to enable the economic empowerment of 5 million women in 2020 (ABBASI, 2017). It has also been dedicated to using its position and investment for supporting diversity and equality in business across all the communities. Besides they give back 1% of their operating income annually to local communities. They have also dedicated themselves to helping to renew communities after natural disasters and help fund scholarships for the development of the youth. Many other progressive companies have done the same to convince people that they are involved in community development. Other socially responsible programs include ethical and philanthropic responsibility. In conclusion, a socially responsible company will do more than the law provides to maintain its reputation in the market and to help improve society as a whole. Some benefits come with being a socially responsible organization. For example, public opinion will support businesses pursuing economic and social goals. They will also secure profits in the long run. Businesses can create a favorable public image by pursuing social goals. They choose social responsibility because they understand that they can only reap big through it. And to be socially responsible, they must check on their employees' welfare, fulfill their economic and legal obligations, and produce environmentally friendly products.
