Introduction
The objective of the project is to provide remote healthcare system to patients by transferring data in a secured way. The patients will be able to enter their medical history which will be stored in a secured way. The system will help in providing the medical health facilities at remote locations where people are suffering from poor health facilities. In this report, we are developing project planning
by creating Gannt chart and network diagram. The main reason for creating network diagram is to analyze the critical steps in project implementation process. The combination of agile and waterfall methodologies will be used for the system development process. The report will consist of GANTT chart, risk assessment plan, project scheduling, SMART milestones and the budget analysis.
GANTT Chart
Gantt chart is the visual representation of scheduled tasks over time. It is mainly used planning a project by scheduling its sub tasks on a specific time period. In a Gantt Chart, project activities are shown on a bar by mentioning time period for that. It is mainly used to specify the project scheduling (Evdokimov & Tsarev, 2018). The Gantt chart of the project will be as following:
We have created GANTT chart Using MS Project framework. The project will be divided into various milestones and sub-tasks. The milestones defined for the completion of the project are – Project initiation, Project planning, project execution, Project Implementation and Project Closure. Project initiation includes the feasibility analysis whether the project implementation can be possible or not. The feasibility analysis will be related to economic, technical and operational analysis. The project phase will include the budget analysis, gathering requirement and defining project scope according to the requirements gathered. This phase of the project will also include risk analysis and preparing a risk mitigation plan.
The development phase is in project execution in which all coding, database design is done. As we have mentioned that the agile and waterfall methodologies will be used to develop the healthcare information system. Therefore, it will be recommended to develop each phase individually then integrate all phases of the system together. Testing will be included in project implementation milestone whereas all documentation and closure will be done in the project closure milestone.
Network Diagram
The network diagram is considered as the visual portrayal of all tasks, responsibilities and also used to represent the workflow of the project. This representation is like a chart with the inclusion of boxes and arrows. The main reason for using a network diagram in project management is to map the schedule and the work sequence of the project and will also help in tracking the project progress via each stage. It also includes the completion phase of the project. It is also used to analyze the scope of the project.
The use of a network diagram in the project management is to find each element of the project and will also track the project status and share it with others. According to research, the depiction of data in a visual form can help in better understanding of its scope and will enhance the performance as well as its productivity. The NETWORK DIAGRAM which has been developed from the PERT Chart is a diagrammatic perspective on the tasks where the situation of the errand and the lines connecting them together can show the detailed advances that involve the task. The Network Diagram can also show errands and undertaking dependencies in an organization or flowchart design (Microsoft, 2019).
It is the longest path throughout the network and is based on task duration. The main reason for using the critical path in the project is to find the shortest time measure by which the project can be completed. The tasks that are not on the critical path do have slack whereas tasks that are on the critical paths will have zero slack. Slack can be defined as the time by which a task can be delayed without impacting the project end date (Project Assistants, Inc., 2016).
In the above network diagram, the red boxes will show the critical path in the project implementation process. The critical path in the network diagram will help in controlling the calculated start and finish date of the project. The project completion date and its delay depend on the date on which the critical path will be completed. With the completion of last step in the project, the overall project will be completed.
SMART Milestones
SMART milestones of a project are as following:
Specific – The project goal is to develop healthcare information system that is useful in provide remote health facilities. The rural people because of poor health services will be able to get the quality healthcare.
Measurable – The stakeholders will be communicated about the progress of the project on weekly basis. The scheduled meetings will be organized at the end of the day with other team members. The risk assessment plan will be developed during the project planning phase.
