Content Analysis Assignment ITECH1102 Networking and Security Content Analysis Assignment Overview This assignment has three major aims: · To help students gain good understanding of all ITECH1102 theoretical and practical material. · To encourage students to use content analysis summaries to prepare for tests, examinations and to help their understanding of theoretical concepts. · To encourage students to conduct independent investigation into networking related topics from books, the Internet and through practical investigation. Engagement with this assignment should help students to prepare for the laboratory test (10%) in week 7, the theory test (0%) in week 8 and the end of semester examination (60%). Timelines and Expectations Students are required to analyse the weekly lecture material of weeks 1 to 8 and create concise content analysis summaries of the theoretical concepts contained in the course lecture slides. The content analysis should not exceed six (6) A4 sides of paper. Where the lab content or information contained in technical articles from the Internet or books helps to fully describe the lecture slide content, discussion of such theoretical articles or discussion of the lab material should be included in the content analysis. Suggestions as to possible inclusions in your content analysis will appear in weekly Work Plan documents on Moodle. The aim of this assessment task is to help ITECH1102 students to fully comprehend the course material and hence help them to pass tests and the examination. Learning Outcomes Assessed The following course learning outcomes are assessed by completing this assessment: · K1. Describe and explain the role and function of network connectivity in current computing. · K2. Describe and explain the principles of communication in networks. · K3. Describe the role and functionality of hardware and software entities that contribute to network communications. · K4. Describe and explain the protocols and interactions that implement network communications. · K6. Describe fundamental aspects of cloud computing. · A1. Apply networking architecture knowledge to analyse the networking needs for business. Assessment Details All work submitted must be authored by the student submitting the work or where material from other sources is included it must be referenced using APA referencing. Students found to have plagiarised will be dealt with according to university regulations. Submission Students should submit a single word or pdf file. By the start of Week 10, all students should have completed their content analysis. Students are required to submit their content analysis to Moodle by Friday, September 21, 2018, 17:00. Marking Marks will be available in Moodle and in FDLMarks by the end of week 12 of semester. 1. Network connectivity’s functionality and performed roles
The network connectivity is very wide-range process which is mostly performed with common aim of connecting network devices so that data, resource, network devices and processes of different applications can be shared with different users in an healthy environment. In computing environment, network connectivity is responsible for distinct functionalities and required roles [Ahuja, 2017]. The primary functions performed by every connected network are supplied underneath:
a) Most of the IT and non-IT based organizations uses networks. Each organization has some commonly operated devices. So, the resources sharing functionality of such commonly operated devices is archived by network connectivity.
b) Most of the individual users or professional working inside any organization use functionality of data sharing archived by network connectivity.
c) Some organizations make implementation of NOS (Network operating system) to reduce the costing of OS. The NOS implementation functionality is also archived by network connectivity.
d) The network connectivity also provides functionalities of sharing the acquired resources among transmission Medias.
e) A healthy environment is being created by network connectivity for any organization. The required process executions, resource requirements and sharing of information in secured environment are assured by functionalities of network connectivity.
Beside from provided functionalities, some important and critical roles are also played by network connectivity. The primary roles performed by every connected network are supplied underneath:
a) Development of secured network environment so that users can freely perform their activities is primary roles performed by every connected network.
b) The network connectivity is developed to assure the sharing of required resources and collected or stored data among its users or nodes.
c) The timely allocation of requested resources is also assured by network connectivity.
d) The topology implementation, handling disaster conditions and improved network security are other important roles assigned to network connectivity.
2. Principles used during every network communication
The actual development of any dedicated network is based on different principles set over it. These principles acts as the lifeline guidelines of complete network and responsible for defining the topology implementation, network type, utilization of network bandwidth, selection of required media, and data transfer speed obtained by network implementation [Greicius et al, 2003]. The primary principles used by every connected network are supplied underneath:
a) The standards created...
