2. A short thesis Statement about the topic (an introduction).


3. A concise summary of the source in which you identify key issues and author’s arguments and analysis.


4. Your evaluation or critique. In your own words, state your thoughts about the author’s arguments and presentation of facts. Here you can cover a range of issues by trying to answer the following questions: generally, what did you think of the source you summarized? Were the author’s analysis and arguments convincing? Strong? Clear? Do you agree or do you disagree with the author’s ideas? Try to be creative in assessing the various aspects of the source.

Structure

Your reaction paper must be written according to the following structure and format:

1. Include title page according to the APA academic styles of writing.


2. Use in-text citations of the source (quotes, ideas or data) according to the APA style of writing.


3. Clearly cite the complete references of the source of your reaction paper at the end as References. The complete reference information includes the author’s name, title, journal or other source title, and facts of publication (place of publication, publisher, date of publication and page numbers – whatever applies per APA).


4. Your main body of paper must be at least twofullpages long, typed and double spaced.

Try to find sources that discuss real issues with analysis and arguments rather than articles that simply describe events in details such as newspaper articles that just describe what happened. Your paper is evaluated on the basis of content, clarity, and originality (your own ideas and arguments).
