Summary
The episode one briefly described the connection between the diabetes and suburban sprawl. This episode clearly states the sprawl, which is due to the car and its dependent sprawl. It clearly states that everydaylife was dependent and moving tovarious places such as home, work, or shopping. As most of the important and daily need places are travelled that are very far away from each other. However, most of them are constantly using the car traveling way to reach the desired places, which mostly increased the number of type 2 diabetes and obesity cases due to various type of segregation. Type 2 diabetes is described in detail and its occurrence in in adult as well as young children’s. Various communities are mentioned in the episode. These communities were encouraged to use public transportation, bike, and to walk in order to bring the areas closer together [Communities, D. H. (2017)]
It was reported that during 19th century, public health and the correlation between the built environment was increased with significant rate, as most of the workers crowded into unsanitary, industrial cities, which results in increased rate of disease and epidemics and a decrease in life expectancy. Built environment was changed suddenly that lead to alteration in public health towards industrialized nations. Data suggest that improvements in building designs to ensure that residents will get the light and fresh air, comprehensive sewer systems, and limited movement in residential areas, removed industrial pollution, etc. has gained a lot with respect to the public health. However, the public health was highly affected with the builtenvironment the leads to various chronic diseases by releasing toxins or pollutants, which results in lifestyle problems. The common lifestyle diseases are diabetes, coronary vascular disease, and asthma. The difference between the urban and suburban is transportation and number of cars, which lead to various diseases. Cars lead to suburban shift and it’s doubtful that ownership is the pathway to or a symptom of success. However, the truth is probably more complex.
For thousands of years, it has been found that most of the cities and towns were built at a human scale. Data suggest that the large cities were walkable, which described that the cities and towns were completely transformed in a short lifespan. Populations are supposed to be built for automobiles instead of people, they sprawled. The literature suggested that the sprawl has a number of features such as a low density of development/hectare, rigorously separated uses, leapfrogging in the build-up, left undeveloped gapsor dependency on the cars. The sprawl is mostly consideredby judging the development on the agricultural or natural greenfieldplaces. It was found that the sprawling and the suburb-dominated municipalities are becoming common worldwide features in North America. Most of the Canadians live in urban areas, half of metropolitan resident’slives in the suburbs that are faster than the city areas.

Secondly, some sort of pancreas diseases can slow its ability to make insulin.
