Congratulations, you and your partner (if you want to have one) are the proud owners of a brand new Company in Red Deer!

Your company is in the business of making Widgets (imaginary tools) that are used in the oilfield. Your company is a small to medium sized company with the following

· A production crew of 100 people who build the product in your facility in Red Deer.

· A sales staff of 10 people who sell your product into the oilfield market.

· A staff of 10 office workers who run the administration of your company.

Your assignment is to create the policy and procedures for your company based on the desire of how you wish your company to run. You will use google pages (or another format) to create these policies.

Your assignment includes

· Create a company name and a company logo for your organization.

· Decide on the following for your organization:

· What type of employees are you going to have and how are you going to compensate them? (pg. 13 employment options)

· Decide the type of employees you want by completing the Big Five personality (pg. 51) for your desired employees. Explain why you want these characteristics.

· Create a value statement of the values of your company (4-5) p.82

· What generational workers are you going to try and hire based on their values? (p.86)

· Create a diversity effectiveness policy for your company, explain why you chose the policy you did? (p.100)

· Is your Company based on Theory X or Theory Y Thinking? Explain how this will influence how you treat employees.

· Will you be motivating your employees using extrinsic or intrinsic rewards? What will those rewards be?

· Create an effective rewards system for paying your employees, which types of incentives will you use? (p.166)

How to complete the assignment

· Using google pages or another program to create your company policy

· List each of the above questions on the website using a different tab.

· You will submit the link to the Website to me on Blackboard

· You can use charts, point form, diagrams or other means rather than writing everything out.
