Introduction
The workforces that generate functional power for business organizations that ultimately realize into the form of profit are formed with employees amalgamated together and coming from different backgrounds, which are financially, socially and culturally different. As employees from different organizations work under a single management conflicts are inevitable. Although conflicts are considered hindrances to organizational functionality, create loss of functional momentum and potential losses it is evident that conflicts gradually pave the way for multi-cultural working atmosphere. Therefore, assessment of the reasons leading to organizational conflicts is important. In the current, essay the organizational conflict sustaining within the wealthiest company in the world Apple Inc. has been considered as the case study, which aims to help in identifying and solve organizational conflicts and their solutions.
1. Organizational Conflict in Apple Inc.
Apple Inc. has been and still is one of the leading companies in the tech business community on global scale. After the change in the leadership in the company, as Steve Jobs resigned from his post as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tim Cook was made the CEO of the company. However, the soaring expectation for innovation and consistency of business growth started to create conflict within the organization as employee-employer relationships, management-shareholders cooperation and cultural differences in visions created organizational conflict that is still evident from the approach Apple Inc. has taken since Tim Cook took over as the CEO of the company (Fortune, 2015).
Unlike Steve Jobs, who catered for attention, focused on innovation and was visionary at large was very different from Tim Cook, who focus on Apple Inc. as a business company rather than an innovation institute. Tim, unlike Steve has focused on increasing market shares, which has resulted in employee conflicts, as many employees and manager believe that Tim does not have the vision Steve had.
In addition, Apple Inc. has confidentiality clauses, which creates rift in the personal life of its employees, as they have cultural values that encourage them to share their secrets with their spouse. Apple Inc. as an organization promotes the rigid standards of its confidentiality of projects, products and services until public release, which makes the employees, follow strict rules even after they are not within the organizational premises or released from their jobs (Edwards, 2014).
