You have been hired by a startup company to design, plan and implement an Ethernet. There
is only one location but with 4 departments. Each department will have its own subnet with
the following requirements: i) Administration with 150 users, ii) Engineering with 200 users,
iii) Sales and marketing with 300 users and iv) Accounting with 500 users. Each department
will have its own file server and network printer. There is a projected growth of 100% in 3
years in each department.
Assume you have to use four routers, where each router has three interfaces (Fa0/0, Fa0/1,
eth0/0/0), The Ethernet interface should be used for connectivity of subnet, whereas the Fast
Ethernet should be used for interconnectivity of routers. You have to choose a subnet size
which has minimum address wastage.
a) Graphically represent the design of Ethernet that supports the above requirements.
b) Assign addresses to components of the network. To answer this question you should
label all of the interfaces in the diagram with their assigned addresses in the
A.B.C.D/x format.
c) Write down the commands to configure the routers for assignment of IP address and
static routing.
