McDonald’s
has a flat organisational structure where in the span of control is wide which
means that the hierarchical levels are not few in number. The organisation is headed by CEO
and board of directors which means followed by functional heads for the respective
functional areas such as operations, Finance, Marketing, HR and Research and Development.
These heads act as the ultimate controller of the department and hence provide direct access
to the employees to reach up to them in case of any problem pertaining to that particular
function.
High level objectives for the functional heads:
Chief Executive Officer
Objective of CEO is to establish and adhere to the self-regulating procedures at McDonald’s
and reflect ethics, integrity and values of the organisation in whatever they do. This is
measurable in terms of the strategic objective achieved by financial growth and corporate
social responsibility initiatives.
Chief Risk Officer
Objective is to focus on organisation wide risk management programs and measure efficiency
of these programs. This is inclusive of the embedding of risk management practices and
