Answer in word document, under each question, written answers or screenshots will be sufficient if from excel. Descriptive Statistics 1. Please perform any data cleaning required to analyze the dataset. Remark on anything you notice, or actions you take. 2. Please perform descriptive statistics on the dataset, post your results here. 3. What is the range of MPG in the dataset? Visualization of Data 4. Please create a histogram of MPG, Weight, and modelYear. Post each of these below. 5. Please create a scatterplot of MPG and displacement. Post this of these below. Probability 6. What is the probability of selecting a car at random, and getting a car with more than 25 mpg? a. 20% b. 30% c. 40% d. 50% 7. What is the probability of selecting a car at random, that you like, from this dataset? (*subjective probability) Probability Distributions 8. Does the following histogram (of displacement) appear to have a normal distribution? 9. Does the histogram of displacement have a left skew or a right skew? Sampling & Central Limit Theorem 10. Please perform a sample of the mpg column. Explain your strategy & post your mpg calculation below. 11. The fundamental point of the Central Limit Theorem is that having larger samples, and more samples, can lead to greater confidence in what the actual mean of the population. How does your sample compare to the actual mpg average from the dataset? Hypothesis Testing 12. Please perform a T-Test on the ttest dataset from the file. Which T-Test will you perform? Is there a statistically significant difference in mpg from country 1 and country 2? Correlation 13. Given the scatterplot between MPG and displacement that you created; perform a correlation analysis; explain the relationship of the two variables. Regression 14. Please perform Regression Analysis on the mpg dataset. Please ensure that all variables included are significant (except for the intercept, of course; it’s p-value does not matter). Post your final results from the modelling here. Include the output including at least the top part of the Summary Output. (Please do not include all the residuals!!) What’s the Point? 15. Please describe potential past, present, or future jobs in which you could utilize regression analysis & how it might make a difference. What are things that would be helpful to model? What are things you would want to better understand about aspects of your work, through use of analysis? END OF EXAM

Descriptive Statistics
1. Please perform any data cleaning required to analyze the dataset. Remark on an
ything you notice, or actions you take.
Answer: There are some values in the data set which are missing. We use the MS-Excel tool to fill the missing values with the mean of that particular column. Now, our data set is fully ready for the analysis process.
2. Please perform descriptive statistics on the dataset, post your results here.
Answer: The descriptive statistics is performed with the help of MS-Excel and the output is given as follows:
3. What is the range of MPG in the dataset?
Answer: The range is calculated by subtracting the minimum value from the maximum value. The maximum and minimum values are taken from the above descriptive statistics table. For MPG column, the maximum value is 46.6 and the minimum value is 9. Thus, the range for MPG is .
Visualization of Data
4. Please create a histogram of MPG, Weight, and modelYear. Post each of these below.
The distribution of the mpg is positively skewed as the curve is stretched towards right side.
The distribution of the weight is also positively distributed as the curve is stretched more towards the right side.
The distribution of the ModelYear variable is uniform as seen from the above histogram and the limits are 70 to 82.
5. Please create a scatterplot of MPG and displacement. Post this of these below.
The scatterplot is given as follows:
From above scatter plot we can seen that there is a negative relationship between both the variables. As displacement increase mpg value will decrease.
Probability
6. What is the probability of selecting a car at random, and getting a car with more than 25 mpg?
a. 20%
b. 30%
c. 40%
d. 50%
Answer: The mean of the mpg is 23.51 and the standard deviation is 7.81. we will use the standard normal concept,

7. What is the probability of selecting a car at random, that you like, from this dataset? (*subjective probability)
Answer: The choice of selecting a car is kind of subject and for this we can calculated...
