Make sure to state your assumptions clearly - especially in formulating your management problem, but also in deriving research objectives/questions as needed. 2. This is an exercise in practicing action-oriented decision problems. Thus, make sure to come up an actionable (action-oriented) decision problem (and not a discovery oriented one). If you choose a discovery oriented problem, you will have difficulty with the rest of the assignment. 3. Research objectives basically ask the question: “what do | need to know to solve the management problem?” So, here it is essential that you list all the things you would need to know to help you make the decision embedded in the management problem you have identified. It is also important that you do NOT mention anything that is not directly relevant to your management problem. 4. Research questions follow a similar partner. You ask the question: "what do | need to know to address each of the research objectives | have identified?" So, once again, it is essential that you list all the things you would need to know to address the research objectives and NOT mention anything that is NOT directly relevant to it. 5. Finally, same principles apply to the listing of the variables: list all relevant variables, but not anything that is not. Depending on the variables you choose, you might need to disclose any assumptions (e.g., do you assume the firm to be continuously collect some form of data, granularity of data, if needed data collection method - survey, experiment, projective techniques etc.). v View Rubric Individual Assignment 1 Criteria Ratings Pts Submit Assignment Next » 20:20 2023/9/4 ~ & Cc @ osu.instructure.com/courses/148048/assignments/3579172 a rx O oO : DUE: Individual Assignment 1 100 Possible Points - Autumn 2023 Due: Tue Sep 5, 2023 12:00pm Home Announcements Attempt 1 4 3) In Progress EN Add Comment P NEXT UP: Submit Assignment Syllabus Modules CarmenBooks vv View Rubric ) Individual Assignment 1 Assignments Discussions Criteria Ratings Pts People Management Decision Problem view longer description /40 pts Grades Student Evaluation of Research Objective(s) /20 pt Instruction view longer description pts Library Link Research Question(s) view longer description /20 pts Possible Variables to Measure / 20 pts view longer description Total Points: O Choose a submission type [4 . { Previous Submit Assignment Next » 7 = 20:20 nn @« @ A Spa » 2023/9/4 © in J 0 DUE: Individual Assignment 1X b X & © in C' @& osu.instructure.com/courses/148048/assignments/3579172 Tar w 0O oO : Autumn 2023 Home Announcements Syllabus Modules CarmenBooks Assignments Discussions People Grades Student Evaluation of Instruction Library Link { Previous 54°C 2 20:19 mn « cum NAV) TF 2003908 DUE: Individual Assignment 1 100 Possible Points - Due: Tue Sep 5, 2023 12:00pm In Progress Attempt 1 vO) NEXT UP: Submit Assignment GN Add Comment Unlimited Attempts Allowed Vv Details Individual Assignment 1 Local Butcher Deciphering the symptoms a firm faces and formulating them into meaningful decision problems & research questions might be trickier then it seems.
