Compare the permeability and porosity of several soil samples. To do so, collect several samples of soil taken from various locations and put them in different containers. Look at each one, and predict through which sample the water will move the fastest. Slowly add 100 mL of water to each sample until it can hold no more. Note the time it takes for the water to reach the bottom of the container. Which sample had the greatest porosity? Which had the greatest permeability?
