Thanks for the discussion. I would like to ask you to elaborate further on a couple of portions of your discussion. First, why is adopting or adhering to the principles good business? That is, why can it be expected to contribute to or at least not interfere with the profitability and success of the business organization? Second, would you elaborate further on what kind of opposition there might be to adopting and applying the principles in the business or organization you are considering? Please focus on specifics in this regard. For example, if you say that an organization is forced to follow universalism, what exactly do you mean by universalism? Why would that be bad or problematic? And so on.

Smooth operations in business always pertain to some ethics and cultural norms of the organizations they have to carry out. The Ten Principles of the UN are the directives to have positive ways to develop business methods. These principles clear the pathways of success because their range of guidance is comprehensive and well documented. The global compacts of ten principles have all aspects that a good organization should pursue with diligence. These guidelines help develop the business ideologies with every possible factor that can be used to do good business in all dimensions. Ethical Norms and Good Practices In the context of developing positive business strategies, the organization should note that there are multiple levels of operations that it should focus upon, and these guidelines are recorded in the principles (Rasche, 2020). For example, respect for human rights and avoiding corrupt or unprofessional approaches are critical components of running an excellent and sustainable business. It is true to state that human rights are the key aspects of business norms these days; one must make sure that these rights are well examined and processed. On the other hand, corruption may give momentary profit and competitive advantage, but in the long run of stabilizing business norms, corruption and non-professionalism never help. Therefore, as per observation principle one and principle ten, organizations must respect these guidelines (Williams, 2018). Expected Opposition Despite holding sovereign authority, the principles have gaps that can encourage opposition to the rationale mentioned above. For example, there cannot be a universal approach to taking joint initiatives related to public well-being because every organization has different business aspects. Therefore, they can operate under the kind of situations they have. Instead, they are forced to follow universalism in business (Rasche, 2020). Diversity in industry, thus, is something that can be problematic to implement the principles at the global level. Legitimacy There are legitimate explanations for implementing these principles into business. For example, Companies that incorporate the UN Global Compact's Ten Principles into their strategies, policies, and processes, as well as develop a culture of integrity, are not only fulfilling their primary duties to people and the environment but also laying the groundwork for long-term success (Williams, 2018). Participating companies must submit an annual Communication on Progress (COP) detailing their efforts to integrate the Ten Principles into their strategy and operations and initiatives to promote social priorities, according to the UN Global Compact.
