Hi Marcus,
Communication is essential to every aspect of our lives. How does one promote communication through an assessment, as some people are not good at expressing their feelings or speaking out loud what they are thinking in a way that others can comprehend? I have found myself skipping words because I have already thought about what I was going to say; therefore, some have difficulty understanding while others seem to know exactly what I'm saying without using all of the words. Does patience have a lot to do with our interactions, hereditary, learned skills? The Mo Dept of Corrections has started the "Engage" meetings where the employee's direct supervisor provides feedback and listens to any concerns or issues. Do you think this is an effective tool? Do you think that a good supervisor should switch personalities to approach the different personalities they must deal with, or is this taking away from the supervisor's personality? The standardized test measures knowledge, abilities, and traits, but anxiety and personality are not considered; therefore, the test seems invalid to the hands-on learner who may be the best employee (Scott, 2010). How important is a personality assessment when considering the most qualified candidate? Great information! I wish you the best!
Carol
