Assessment Task In this assessment, you will first of all go through the scenario below. Scenario Auto Accessories (AA) is a small new company selling and distributing vehicle accessories from an overseas supplier, specialised in attractive, useful and popular items for most vehicle owners, e.g. colourful decorative car stickers, traffic recording camera, parking assistance camera viewer, etc. AA has experienced a business growth over the last two years. Currently, all the business administrative and management activities such as sales, marketing, warehousing, purchasing, staff payroll and customer service are carried out with little use of information and communication technology (ICT). The administrative staff notice its importance but finds it hard to market products online, when similar business started to do so. Presently, an individual price tag is put on each product for sales on the shelves along all isles. A customer needs help to locate products. Too much time was taken for the service staff members to help customers about their requests. When a product is sold, it is recorded on the journal roll at the sales terminal, as well as a receipt printed for the customer. Stocktaking and reorder is done manually by checking items remaining on the shelves and recording items to be ordered. If customers want to know the availability of an item, they have to come to the store or ring and talk to a customer service staff. 2 The owners seriously consider the need for staying competitive in time of their business growth in order to effectively retain their regular and new customers. This requires effective use and management of IT. They need an effective technological solution to solve their problems, so that they can provide quality services and sustain their business. Analyse the above scenario, identifying and reporting on the following areas: 1. As a Business Analyst (BA), perform a business knowledge audit particularly about the functional units, jobs and roles (who, why, how, what, where and when) in the provided scenario. Provide a brief statement of the problem and business case from the perspective of a BA. 2. Identify the information to be collected from people with each functional unit’s job knowledge and roles, and include knowledge sources for such information (stakeholder analysis) 3. Document the business context, the main business processes with functional relation between processes, and justify the appropriateness of any useful cited diagram or your own developed diagram using a modelling tool. 4. Conclude your findings You will have to create an e-portfolio using a software tool named Mahara. You need to make it private with a secret URL, should it will requested during the marking process. You can progressively work on your portfolio creating an e-portfolio and entering your answer. Once you have finished the entire e-portfolio, you need to hit the Mahara printer image at bottom of your Mahara webpage to obtain a pdf file for submission and marking purposes. Background:
Auto Accessories is the small company that is new and sell as well as distribute vehicle accessories. They sell and distribute their popular and attractive items to the most of the vehicle owners. They deal with the overseas suppliers. Some popular items of the company are traffic recording camera, colourful decorative car stickers and parking assistant camera viewer. However, in present days, Auto Accessories (AA) is growing over the last two years. The business administrative and the management activities are carried out with the little help of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). As per the case study, these activities include sales, warehousing and stuff payroll and customer service, purchasing and marketing. The administrative have found that using Information and Communication Technology in the organisation is important but they cannot utilise it appropriately. Regarding this, they are facing some issues, which need to be developed to gain the customer loyalty (case study). Before these, they need to understand the needs of the customers that will help them to develop the products and servicing system.

The business utilizes the information and communication technology in administrative and management activities. They need to utilize the technology in marketing the products online. Other companies in the same field are utilizing the information and communication technology to improve their businesses that help those companies to improve the customer loyalty and customer satisfaction rate. Hence, to develop the competitive advantages, the organisation needs to utilize the information and communication technology in their product development and product marketing. They have put their products on their store shelves with individual price tag along all isles. However, as argued by Westin and Ruebhausen (2015), the customers need to locate the products on the store that helps to purchase their necessary things. They keep records of the sales in the journal roll at the sales terminal. Moreover, they provide printed receipt to their customers. It is very time consuming procedure that needs to be developed for the organisational development. Due to lack of technologies, they are unable to provide developed facilities to their customers. If the customers have any query about the items they sold, they need to come to the store or call the customer service staffs that are not a good approach to satisfy the customers.
Opportunity to improve:
The organisation has various to improve their business, as it is a new and small business. As mentioned by Nakagawa and Watanabe (2017), they need to utilize the information and communication technology in their organisation that can help them to develop the organisational culture. Moreover, it will help them to develop the communication with their customers. They need to empower their employees so that they can understand the needs and perceptions of the customers. The management can employ effective leaders, who will be able to guide the employees and training sessions also can be arranged for the employees that will develop the knowledge and skills of the employees of Auto Accessories. To develop the customer loyalty and customer satisfaction rate, they need to develop the organisational culture first (Bloom et al. 2014). In the initial stage, the development procedure will be cost effective but it will help the company in their future growth. They need to motivate their employees so that they develop the interaction with the customers, which is necessary. Moreover, they can develop the e-commerce strategy to attract more customers. As in present days, most of the customers prefer online shopping; this will be beneficial for the organisation to apply the e-commerce strategy in the organisation (Luftman, Lyytinen and ben Zvi, 2017).
