In the small town of Cairnbrook, Pennsylvania, law enforcement hunted relentlessly for the suspect after the kidnapping and sexual harassment of a young girl while the town worried for the protection of students. The criminal justice division of the FBI unveiled the Next Generation Recognition system to improve its biometric functionality in the years following the crime.
Now, on fingerprint trigeminal nerve, the system's proposed algorithm will collect the most precise data. The new scheme leads to results that are quicker and more precise. Thus, while no match could have been found in 1999, the developments in fingerprint technology made by the FBI enabled investigators crack the case after nearly 20 years (U.S. Department of Justice, 2020).
