choose ONE of the four Gospels(Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John), responding to the Gospel. Do your best to interact only with what is in the specific text that you chose to read for this assignment. Approach this assignment as if this particular text was the only thing you had ever read or heard about this person named Jesus. Give your general response to your reading of the text, but be sure to generally engage the following questions from the text you read: What does the author want you to know about him? What can you tell me about Jesus? What is the main message of Jesus? What kind of people appear to respond favorably to Jesus's message, and what kind of people appear to reject his message? Why do you think people react so differently to Jesus? Does Jesus appear to favor some people over others, or does he treat everyone the same? Did anything surprise you in this reading? Did you encounter any new information?
To make sure that you are engaging with this particular text and not any previous assumptions, it may be helpful to cite passages from the text to back up your claims.
