In many meaningful ways, the Islamic Empire and Byzantine Empire are necessarily different. At the most superficial level, there is a clear distinction between the two groups of major religions. Byzantines are Christians, Islamic empire, whether it is the Umayyas, the Abbasids or the Ottomans, and of course all Muslims. The conflict between land rights and other issues has kept these two groups in opposition for years. However, despite the conflict, the Byzantine as well as Islamic Empire not had only same cultural moments, however the Western European people treated them in a similar way, and they all thought they were outsiders. There are some similarity and differences between Empire of Byzantine and Islamic Empire. Both Islamic and Byzantium Empire rose in the demise of Roman Empire.
Comparison of the Byzantine Empire, the Empire the Islamic Empire, the Sui and Tang dynasties
The most significant difference among two is their religious custom. The Empire of Byzantine was composed of the Orthodox Christians, and Arab (Muslim) Empire was engulfed by Islam. Throughout the different, both the religions have similar tenant (Bates 141-144). Islam believes in the god of monotheism like Byzantium. They all had the Iconoclasm period, eradicating religious icons and images that eventually led to the polytheism. The core of their similarity is the powerful military power, which greatly affects their power rise. Byzantine has a very strong navy and army, while the Islamic Empire relies on army of the Rashidun. This comparison laid a solid foundation for development of the two empires. The government of the two empires is different instinctively. Byzantine Empire is a completely monarchy with the secular ruler and the emperor is placed above regulation. On other hand, empire of Islam is the Caliphate (the successor) is a political leader and supreme religious. Both the empires are recipients of the routes of lucrative trade (Itulua-Abumere 18). Byzantine Empire spanned the revival of the Silk Road and Mediterranean, making the capital of Constantinople a center of the commerce as well as wealth. Islamic Empire is also trading on the Silk Road connecting China and Mediterranean. The route between Asia and Europe on edge of Silk Road, as well as the overlooking route from the Arabian Peninsula to East Africa, create a very unique environment for the cultural exchanges and is necessary for the creation of banks...
