Erik Erikson’s eight stages of psychosocial developments is the theoretical culmination of his research on identity and the ways in which psychoanalysis and socio-cultural factors combine in order to affect the developmental processes in individuals. The developmental stage that we would discuss here is the stage 2 of psychosocial development, which is concerned with toddlers, aged approximately 18 months- 36 months or 1-3 year old (Scheck, 2005).
