Why Abraham Piques my Interest
Hebrew Scriptures always portrayed Abraham as the ‘friend of God’. Abraham also known as Abram or Avram has been [resented as a great figure with respect to all the three popular religions that are Islam, Christianity and Judaism. As mentioned in the biblical book Genesis, Abraham left the area of ‘Ur’ during Mesopotamia, and this was because God asked him to discover a new nation. This newly discovered nation was later termed as Cannan. Abraham is also presented as a popular figure because, he unquestioningly obeyed every command received from God, such as, the sacrifice of his one and only son Isaac, born form his wife ‘Sarah’.
This figure piqued my interest because Abraham has been reflected as a highly honest and obedient friend of God. Abraham was ready to sacrifice his son, as per the instructions provided by God....
