Definition of Species: In biology, species is defined as a group of organisms which can produce fertile offspring with one another in nature. i.e. group of living things that can reproduce by interbreeding.
We can find a grou
p of animals qualify as a species when they are able to reproduce with each other, in general. Special identies are by DNA, morphology or behavior or ecological niche.
Special species refer to the rare, threatened or endangered species and require special consideration for protection.
Subspecies are subgroups within species that have different traits.
Semi-species are ones which lie between species and sub species. They have the traits of species but not all and also they have more traits than sub species.
New species come only from a breach in the reproductive barriers. This breach can occur voluntarily by nature or involuntarily by humans.
Sympatric speciation occurs through the errors in meiosis that form gametes with the extra chromosomes (polyploidy)., while autopolyploidy occurs within a single set of species, and allopolyploidy occurs between closely related species.
Thus new species can emergy either by Sympatric speciation or autopolyploidy or allopolyploidy.
