Section 1
a)
In the recent article analysis regarding the physical transport network in Australia is conducted for the year 1999–2012. Every year a weighted cumulative impact sco
re is calculated for each source region. Determination of the high-risk source regions which had evident changes in the risk was determined. After the calculation of overall risk ranking, it was observed that Singapore was the source region having a greatest overall physical connection with Australia. This analysis was beneficial to develop a future bio-security policy by creating a baseline model considering the transportation of goods and individuals.
b)
The source of the original data is Australian Government Open Data. A subset is drawn as a sample from the original data set. The obtained sample is a secondary data set. There are a total of 13 variables in the sample. The variables which are measured by the nominal scale of measurement are In Out, Australian City, International City, Airline, Route, Port Country, Port Region, Service Country, Service Region, and Stops. All flights and maximum seats and measured by the ratio scale of measurement. The presence of air and numeric month makes this sample a time series data.  The variable in - out is given the value "I" for in and "O" for out. The variables stops can take the value 0, 1, 2. All flight and maximum seat can take integer values.
c)
This is a primary data set. The data is collected from a randomly selected 40 KOl students. A method of Simple random sampling is used to collect the data. The questionnaire is floated to these randomly selected 40 students and the reviews are noted regarding the experience level in flying through the 3 airports in Australia specifically Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. The response is recorded in excel Google Drive.

It is evident that the histogram has a tail towards the right. Hence the distribution of all flights is positively skewed. For a skewed distribution, the median is considered as the best measure of Central Tendency. There are very few flights with a high frequency of in or out in the month.
b)
The null hypothesis, the average number of flights that came in and flew out to Australia in a month from September 2003 to September 2018 is 30. This is tested against an alternative hypothesis, the average number of flights that came in and flew out to Australia in a month from September 2003 to September 2018 is greater than 30.
