In the article, “Police Response to Domestic Violence” by B.A. Reaves, it shows that the domestic violence cases, from the year 2006 to the year 2015, don’t even get reported half of the times. Less then 60% people report a case of domestic violence while only 40% of them are provided with justice, which is even less than half. Mostly domestic violence cases do not get reported due to the fact that it can influence negatively. After reporting a case, if instant actions are not taken, the offender may take serious steps in order to hurt the victim more, sometimes they take it as a personal issue and do not want to discuss it outside the four walls of their home. Majority of the time the sex of the victim has come out to be female although there is not much difference between male and female victims according to the data provided by Reaves in that particular article.
