Summary of the Article: 
The article „Types of Competitive Advantage and Analysis’ from International Journal of 
Business and Management, brings into focus different aspects of competitive advantage and the 
importance of competitive advantage in the organization. According to this article, Competitive 
Advantage can be attained by an organization from two perspectives i.e. when the organization is 
able to deliver the same products and benefits to the end consumers at a comparatively low cost 
which provides the company cost advantage or by delivering the products which exceeds the 
competitors‟ products, which results in differentiation advantage. The competitive advantage is 
an important aspect which is necessary for an organization so as to satisfy the consumers. A 
company is able to attain competitive advantage when the organization acquires or develops an 
attribute which helps the company to outperform its competitors. With the competitive advantage 
inherited in the company, the company has the ability to outperform the competition and ensure 
market leadership. 
The article also discusses about different sources that are used by the company which will help in 
attaining competitive edge. One of the biggest sources being technology and innovation, which is 
one of the biggest aspects which helps the company to build better products and are considered

order to gain a competitive edge through utilization of each other‟s core competencies. The 
organization needs to have a strong edge on different processes and aspects which helps the 
company to attain competitive advantage so as to compete in the market. The companies are 
focusing on adopting different strategies like differentiation strategy, as adopted by Apple Inc.
