1. The podcast was quite informative. Remote work is new working style fo
r many employees and after pandemic they are voluntarily asking their employers to allow them for remote work. The data is evident that it is still an unorganized form of doing work as there is no fixed time and employee remains occupied for most of the time in a day. MNCs are framing policies, which will allows employees to maintain their work life balances if they have opted for work from home. Monitoring productivity and providing constructive feedback should be provided to improve themselves.
2. An increased need of training and development has emerged and posed a challenge for the companies as new technologies are being in use. It has posed equal challenges on employee also to get acquaint with technologies within a short span of time. This need to be compensated by spending additional time on the systems to understand and practice basics and then moving to advanced levels.
3. PWC reported that constant guidance and motivation is given from manager’s side because planning time for training along with hectic day ahead is again a compromise with work life balance. During lockdown people became conscious of their health and started doing yoga and exercise as a part of their routine. They also encourage employees to follow the trend as it will contribute in their productivity and reduce the impact of long sitting hours due to work. Managers by keeping informal sessions and discussing these concerns will alleviate the moral of the employees and give them a sense of concern. Due to shortage of required talent multinationals also cannot afford to lose employees on health grounds and investing again to recruit, select and train the employees. It impacts the cost and time for it.
4. As per me the newly designed policies will also focus on work culture and ethics in this new setup and address the challenges faced by managers in managing their teams. It will also help in re-structuring their tasks according to their skills and availability for work.
