1.4 Testing procedure to examine client’s fitness
The testing procedures to examine client’s fitness are as follows:
1. Cardio respiratory endurance: Here the heart, muscles and lungs works together. For sedentary people a 1.5 mile treadmill walk/ run test and for fit people a 2.4 km run test will be conducted to measure the amount of oxygen intake. The higher amount of oxygen you inhale means your cardio respiratory system is working efficiently.
2. Flexibility: A sit and reach test can be effective to measure the flexibility of the client’s back and hamstring. Here the client has to sit on the floor with his legs straight towards a box and bend forward with his hand to touch the box. The further he/ she can move the greater is the flexibility.
3. Agility: This test will be used to measure the client’s agility and his multidirectional movement. For this four cones will be placed on the floor in multidirectional T-shaped form. The client will have to move forwards, backward as well as lateral and pick up the cones to show their agility. This is known as T-Test.
4. Strength: To measure the client’s strength he. She has to perform 30 squats in 1 minute and after taking 30 seconds rest have to do maximum number of pushup for 1 minute. This will enable us to judge the strength easily.
5. Strength & Strength endurance: To measure strength endurance, the client has to perform the same test which he did for measuring his strength along with 1 minute planks.
6. Power: To measure the power of the client, the client has to run for 1 mile, with a 3 minutes break do 30 squats in 1 minute, with a 30 seconds rest do maximum number of pushups for 2 minutes and planks for 1 minute.
