Certain masonry ties used in residential construction receive a hot-dipped galvanized finish for strength and protection against moisture. Independent random samples of masonry ties from two competing companies were obtained. The amount of coating on one side of each tie was measured (in g/m2 ). The resulting summary statistics are given in the following table.
