6. “I don’t think that my parents did everything right. But I know that they always loved me and that was really important. They always took care of me, but they also let me know that they cared about me—and helping me become the best person I could be. Even when they punished me, they thought that it was important for me to know why I was getting punished. I did not usually like the punishments but now looking back, I can understand it—I probably did not then but I do now. I think that I am a better person now because of the parents that I had.”
