Chapter 14: Case study of CANCUN
Difference between Environmental Protection and Environmental Conservation
Both terms are associated with protection, environmental protection ensures degradation of environmental potentials where conservation refers to the protection of buildings, houses and other landscapes (Laner & Rechberger, 2017). In reference to the case study, preserving the beauty and presence of aroma is the environmental protection and based on the naturally grown beauty of Mexican lagoon, developing hotels and other business industries is environmental conservation.
Both forms are in context to nature protection. One direct method of protecting the environment, second one is indirect means, that is, taking environment protection as means developing fine industry and business based on the focused area. Baking a proper environmental view taking initiative of protecting that part of nature is environmental protection. Developing hotel or restaurant business focussing on the maintenance of that natural beauty is termed as environmental conservation.
Impact of Industrialisation on Environment and Ways of Overcoming Those
Main impact of industrialisation on the environment is pollution. It impacts the depletion of natural resources. Air pollution, water and soil pollution are the main factors that hampers healthy living of people. Flourishing the industry associating Cancun, has impacted in soil emission, release of gas and carbon dioxide making life and living unhygienic. Industrialisation causes global warming and highly affects climate change (Lin, Omoju & Okonkwo, 2019). The cause of acid rain, degradation of land quality, generation of hazardous waste lead to unsafe disposal. Furthermore, the associating society too has been impacted by ill effects of silicosis, tuberculosis, deafness and types of skin issues due to the emission of sound and gases.
By practicing less cutting of trees and protecting the natural trees and forests and making those tourists attract points the issues can be managed to some extent.
