Case Study 1 – Suresh
Mr Suresh Tamwar, a 67-year-old man, went to see his GP complaining of poor stream, blood in the urine, dribbling and a burning feeling when passing urine. He complained to his GP that passing urine has become a painful experience and sometimes he feels like killing himself. He says, ‘My wife does not know about my problem, doctor, because in my culture these are things you don’t talk to other people about because of the shame. I am now wetting my pants and that is getting me down. I like to drink lots of water, but I am now frightened to drink because of my problem. I get up three or four times at night to pass urine. Is there anything you can do?’
