Description of the portfolio This assessment method will cover some of the critical aspects of essential knowledge and skills as a way for you to consistently provide the evidence required to demonstrate and achieve competency in the above units.

Assessment Method 1: Portfolio
Your portfolio of work must contain a collection of theory and practical work outlined below that is relevant to work as a crown and bridge dental technician. The work contained in the portfolio will be completed during the semester.
Portfolio contents:
PART 1 Date due: WEEK 18. Before the end of your timetabled class. The portfolio will not be accepted late.
The work tasks that you are required to complete are: Tasks for essential knowledge:
1. Portfolio Assignment PART 2 Date due: WEEK 12 Before the end of your timetabled class.
Tasks for essential skills: 1. Design and manufacture a range of removable orthodontic appliances with prescription. 2. Trim, polish, finish and evaluate removable orthodontic appliances for suitability for insertion in the mouth. 3. Design and manufacture oral splints using a range of materials, for a range of jaw relations and malocclusions. 4. Use a range of articulators. 5. Trim, polish, finish and evaluate oral splints for suitability for insertion in the mouth.
The part 2 will not be accepted late.
For the Essential Skills Tasks, supporting documents (hard copy) for each job completed must be included with your portfolio. These documents krown as "work progress" sheets are supplied to you at the commencement of the job by your teacher/s. These sheets must be t:igried off at the specific stages by your teacher as indicated on each sheet.
Progress and feedback This portfolio should be ongoing throughout the semester. It will include samples of the work you do over this period of time. Each assessment task will be checked as you progress through this assessment method. Feedback about the quality of your evidence will be given before the final due date.
