‘Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal Project’ is Australia’s largest project planned by the government of Victoria. One of the major objectives of this project is to provide employment to around 80,000 people by 2050 (Fishermansbend.vic.gov.au, 2018).
5.1.2 Concept Design
The ‘Fishermans Bend Development Board’ develops the main concept of ‘Fishermans Bend’ project. Ms. Meredith Sussex AM as the Chairperson of the board. Along with Ms. Sussex, five different people expertise in different field like ‘industry’, ‘planning’, ‘finance’ and ‘transport’ are also involved with job creation planning. Those five experts are none other than Ms. Susan Oliver, Ms. Janet Bolitho, Ms. Cheryl Batagol PSM, Mr. Martyn Myer AO, and Mr. Gary Liddle AO. While going through the concept designed for ‘Fisherman Bend Project’ it is found that the board is very much concerned about providing jobs in schooling sector, healthcare services and into transportation sector (Premier.vic.gov.au, 2018).
5.1.3 Implementation
The project will be implemented in the area of 480 hectares. It is very difficult to bring the city-shaping mechanism in all part of the area at once. Initially, management will segment the whole area into small parts. After dividing the whole Fishermans Bend or the precinct into small parts, the development will begin by assigning construction teams. Initially, IT parks will be developed in the first place, and then the construction of medical or healthcare centre and Schools for children will take place. As the government of Victoria takes the initiative therefore, the government itself will pay off all expenses that will be involved with the project.
