(C) As a whole-class discussion, brainstorm a variety of test tasks (e.g., multiple-choice, true/false, essay questions) that class members have experienced in learning a foreign language and make a list on the board of all the tasks that are mentioned. Then decide which of those tasks are performance-based, which are communicative, and which are both, neither, or perhaps fall in between.
