I have an extensive experience of working in the educational sector and closely working around students. From a young age, I had passion to teach and enable people around to become a better version of themselves. Thus, I also aimed to become a guidance counselor. This profession aligns with my interest and offers me an opportunity to connect with children. After completing my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology which forms the fundamental to shape my career as a counselor. Taking this course forms an essential element to enhance my knowledge and business acumen. Furthermore, the learning in the course was very well structured covering the practical implementation of the underlying concepts. For instance, social work entails as well as performing the role play highlighted key skills required to become an effective professional. Honestly, it isn’t easy to walk in the shoes of social workers. Just ensuring that we need to speak to a certain person without saying anything very personal yet make a connection. By the virtue of the role play, I was able to implement my learning from the course and develop strong interpersonal skills. Also, it was a good stimulation expressing various parameters that need to be considered in order to ensure there is no ethical or moral breach of conduct.
Essentially, insights that I gauged from the entire experience is that one doesn’t know what the other person is going to speak.
