Abstract
Information technology always helps for improving the performance level of the organizations. Companies are using different applications of information technology for getting more productivity. In this research paper we are analysing the merits and demerits of different information technology applications in a detailed way.

2.1 MIS
Management information system called as most popular information technology application which is used different international companies. The companies such as Toyota and PepsiCo is using MIS for taking decisions at right time. MIS helps for establishing the relationship among the people and systems. MIS specialists assist businesses in getting the most out of their investments in people, equipment, and business processes (Hock et al 2020). MIS is a people-oriented discipline with a focus on technology-enabled service. MIS are instruments used in business to assist procedures, operations, intelligence, and information technology. MIS tools are used to transfer data and manage information. They constitute the foundation of the information management discipline and are sometimes regarded as the first information-age systems. 
2.2 ERP
As per the report of Business Insider (2019) most of the US based companies are using Enterprise resource planning for managing the day to day activities and operations (Mathar et al 2020). ERP helps for coordinating the activities and operations of the organization and it also helps for identifying the major problems faced by the organization.
