Manage Discussion EntryGLOBAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Leading globally is not simple because leaders have to adapt to several things. The complexity of dealing with different cultures, language, and new environment presents significant challenges to global leaders. Therefore, successfully lead and understand the global marketplace, leaders must be prepared to develop a wide training program that responds to different things in the global market. There is no one size fits all but it is important to understand the market that a leader wants to operate into and establish base for the parent company. Understanding cultural complex of the area and how culture influences purchasing decisions of the people in the area is very important (Osland & Bird et al. 2012). There are a lot of factors taking place in the global market that must be put into consideration by leaders. For example, the constant changes taking place in the market and the complexity of leading globally are significant factors that determine the success or failure of a leader. To that end, global leaders need to research widely and learn about the global market in order to get the things that the global market wants. Capturing the needs and imagination of the global market is very important and as such, leaders should not second guess. Instead, they should go for real leadership, which seeks to identify the problem and match the problem with the right solutions (Korver, 2020). When developing and presenting global leadership, these are the factors that need to be considered;✓ Complexity of the global market✓ Cultural reach✓ Politics✓ Economy✓ Continuous changes in the marketplace✓ Purchasing power of the people✓ Immediate needs of the people✓ Important cues considered by the people✓ Language barrier✓ Leadership

Manage Discussion EntryGlobal leadership training is designed to prepare organizational leaders to effectively lead across the globe. For training to be effective organizations must consider the cultural differences in communication, leadership styles, and expectations for leaders. White and Shullman (2012) discussed observations from their experience as organizational consultants. Four themes were discovered in While and Shullman’s (2012) influence of multiculturalism and customs on corporate culture, the consultant as a stranger, the client as elite, and unique situations. Bird et al. (2010) state that three key factors -perception management, relationship management, and self-management- are keys to developing leaders. With this information in mind, here are 10 items that organizations should consider when developing and presenting global leadership training:
Cultural Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence
Conflict resolution Skills
Effective Communication Skills
Time Management
Change Management
Technology Skills
Coaching for Performance
Effective Team Building Skills
Employee Motivation and Retention
