Create a flowchart of the three branches of government. Designate the relationships among the governmental branches, the powers of each, and how they are related. Identify alternatives to litigation available to parties in a lawsuit. Consider the following:



  • Taxing and spending powers.

  • Limits on federal and state governmental actions.

  • Due process, equal protection, and other constitutional rights.

  • Alternative dispute resolutions.

Your 2–3 page flowchart assignment will be graded on the following criteria:



  1. Organize all three branches of government in a flowchart format.

  2. Identify and illustrate in the flowchart the branches’ powers, jurisdiction, and interactivity with each other.

  3. Identify and explain in the flowchart the alternative dispute resolution methods available to the parties of a lawsuit in lieu of litigation.

  4. Explain in the flowchart the benefits to the parties of court-mandated mediation or arbitration.

  5. Integrate into the assignment at least three quality professional and/or academic resources, written within the past five years.
