Introduction
The world of the twenty-first century is too familiar with religiously motivated violence and genocide. Some biblical narratives, such as Joshua, seem to indicate God's active support for genocide and the Holocaust. Count Douglas provided a tool for critically evaluating this hypothesis in his book Joshua Delusion and encouraged readers to seek to understand the testimony of God to God in Jesus Christ (Earl 2011). This book review will summarize the contents of the Earl book. It will then go on to examine the strengths and weaknesses of Earl’s arguments.

Comprehending traditional perspectives, how does Earl ask the effect of the texts on theological significance?
