Bill Clinton’s penchant for Big Macs and French fries was a positive for him when it came to public image building. Even George W. Bush was quite successful with his bus trips into the American heartland, stopping to eat pancake breakfasts and chatting with the electorate, although admission to the latter events was normally controlled and participants were handpicked.
