Upon successful completion of this course, the student has reliably demonstrated the ability to: 1 Communicate clearly, concisely and correctly in the written, spoken, and visual form that fulfills the purpose and meets the needs of the audience. 2 Respond to written, spoken, or visual messages in a manner that ensures effective communication. 5 Use a variety of thinking skills to anticipate and solve problems. 7 Analyze, evaluate, and apply relevant information from a variety of sources. 9 Interact with others in groups or teams in ways that contribute to effective working relationships and the achievement of goals. 10 Manage the use of time and other resources to complete projects. 11 Take responsibility for one’s own actions, decisions, and consequences. Based on this criteria set out in the Course Outline the final assignment will be a one page self assessment as to how you feel you match up with each of the objectives above. Give yourself a grade out of ten for each of the objectives above and then justify the grade with an example of how you meet each skill. If you give yourself a low grade on a particular skillset, explain how you are going about improving upon it. Remember I know who you are and based on class interaction and grades will be able to forcefully agree or disagree with your self-assessment. You do not get marks for grading yourself highly. You get marks for grading yourself honestly. This assignment is taken from the course outline. It is all of the skills we were hoping to instill in each of you by the end of the course. The world has changed immensely, very quickly, but if anything these skills are more important now. When the course started I stated how easy it was to get a job in the economic environment we were dealing with at the time. What was difficult was getting a good job. When are finally let out of our homes and the world slowly gets back to normal those of you who have the skills we have talked about will be at a massive advantage. Do you know what you want to do? If not how are you searching to find out? If yes what plan is in place to help you achieve that goal? Do you have a schedule with time lines? Do you have friends or family who know about your goals and help you stick to the time line? Do you understand your strengths and weaknesses? Can you articulate(discuss) to others what they are and how you are taking advantage of your strengths and working to minimize or eliminate your weaknesses? That in essence is what this last assignment is about. Tell me these things with example to back up your claims. Remember this is where many of you have stumbled in other assignments. Statements without examples and details(proof) are useless. This is an example given by professor how he wants us to do – Just to make sure what is expected of you on the final paper I am going to give you a specific example. Here is one of the statements; "Manage the use of time and other resources to complete projects." If I answer this personally, I could say I give myself 7.5/10. I have talked in class how I was king of procrastination at one point but have gotten much better over time. An example I could give is marking. I used to put off marking till the last day or moment possible which caused me anxiety knowing I was running out of time but not enough to get my butt going. I now look at the work I need to do and make a conscious choice about the pros and cons of doing the work now or delaying. I may say just do 20 tests or 20 papers. Then once I reach 20, I'll do five more and then get up and go for a stroll. I still don't manage my time as well as I could, but this method is helping and I'm refining it all the time. I realize how many more things I can get done with so much less pressure when I don't procrastinate and have a plan. So that detail of answer for each criterion will get a really good mark. I only gave myself 7.5 for my time management skills but I'll give myself a 9/10 on my analysis of that skill.   Got it? Good.  Minimum 600 words
